Ghawla Obituary

On July 17, 2026, we received the sad news that Ghawla has passed away.

Ghawla was a 45-year-old woman who was a permanent resident of Jemima in the Kezia living group. Over the past four months, she was admitted to the hospital multiple times for various medical conditions. On June 11, her condition deteriorated significantly, and she was admitted to the intensive care unit due to severe pneumonia and a bloodstream infection (sepsis).

Ghawla was hospitalized for a long period, where she received intensive medical treatment and was closely monitored. She also underwent surgery to improve her breathing. However, after the surgery, she continued to experience problems with her lungs, so she was unfortunately unable to return to Jemima, which she longed for so much. She passed away on July 17 in the hospital in Beit Jala. She will be buried on July 18 in Ramallah, her family's place of residence. On July 18, a prayer service will also be held at Jemima for the residents and staff.

As the board and volunteers of Jemima, we deeply sympathize with Ghawla's family, and with the residents and staff of Jemima in Beit Jala. We pray for much strength for them.
